When I was in Atlanta earlier this year, I made a trip to West Elm and was gaga for their collection of succulents and terrariums. I have a bit of an indoor black thumb, so I didn’t take the chance of a 6 hour car trip with live plants on board. But I did find some succulents back home at Home Depot – I now have a cute collection on my living room coffee table and I haven’t killed them yet!
Succulents are good for the gardening challenged people – you don’t have to water them very often and they grow easily. You need a well-drained soil – my glass pot has a layer of gravel and then soil. If you have a lid on your glass container/terrarium, you will almost never need to water it as the humidity created by the closed container will create all the water your plants need – what could be easier? I feel so 70′s…like we should start macraming or have a Tupperware party!
These vertical succulent gardens are amazing – sadly, this is not a photo taken from my back fence:

OMW! Love this. I just saw an episode on Desgin Star, all about succulents.
