The Look for Less

I’m in love with wood chandeliers – I’ve seen them in a few multi-million dollar homes  I have shown to clients so I knew they had to be pricey.  Sure enough, I have searched and searched and the ones I have found start at around $3,000!  But last week I received my Ballards catalog, and found a very good looking one for only $300!  (It comes in a 6 light or 12 light version.)  I want to hang this lovely in my living room.  I have a fan/light in there now that I loved 6 years ago, but not so much anymore.  But, after receiving news today that we need to replace our a/c unit AND our roof, this purchase will have to wait for now.

The picture above is from a home I showed in Watersound – a beautiful beach front community along 30A.  Its a truly stunning community with tons of design inspiration.  I really loved this kitchen with the blue glass tile, the ceiling and of course the wood chandeliers.

Here is the “look for less” version from Ballards:

What do you think?  Let me know if you order one!

I promised a Short Sale Project update – we finally were assigned to a negotiator but it will likely be a few weeks until we hear more.  The landscaper is working up a bid.  Did you watch HGTV’d (the Ellen special) on Monday night?  David Bromstead did a huge back yard makeover for a military family and he used “faux grass”.  Some of my friends in AZ swear by it and say it looks and feels real.  I’m going to investigate – what a savings to not have to hire weekly lawn service not to mention the eco-friendliness!
